  • I don't think it is about her committing a crime, it is just about the welfare of her children. Society can't just look the other way and say that there are things which are more important than the welfare of the children. And by that, I mean all children, not just those 14.

  • xicanamama, I didn't mean to imply that it was sad that the children were removed. That was definitely in their best interest, even though I am sure it was traumatic for them. I just meant that between this situation and the chimp one, it is just all around sad.

  • It seems that if she had a full understanding of how the chimp might behave then she could be held accountable for going onto the property. The analogy that was given about walking on the train tracks was a good one, because we all know that doing so could cause death.

  • I feel bad for the poor chimp. He was an animal and was acting accordingly. But I will save my sympathy for the woman whose life is forever altered because of the animal.
